The jug is a traditional, essential and sacred accessory in Haitian voodoo. It is offered to the Lwas ginen, it is used to make libations, in ceremonies it is used to greet certain lwas. It is also used to perform Wonga (magical rituals) such as silencing or softening one's enemies, dispensing justice and many more depending on the knowledge of the practitioner. it is made from lagile by artisans in Haiti.
